World Rhine Riesling Day, March 13.

🍾👏🏼 Today we celebrate World Rhine Riesling Day!

🍇🌱 Rhine Riesling is an aromatic white grape variety that prefers a cool, maximum temperate climate. Due to its naturally high acidity and sensitivity to botrytis, it is suitable for making exceptionally high-quality sweet wines, but its dry wines are also legendary. Today it is grown and loved worldwide for its diversity.

🍏🍋 Depending on the ripeness of the grapes at the time of harvest, their scent and taste notes range from green fruits - such as green apples, citrus - to fully ripe fruits, such as ripe peaches or tropical fruits.

🍾🕰️ Thanks to its high acid content, the highest quality Rhine Rieslings can be aged in the bottle for decades. This is when its honeyed and petrol scent and taste notes really develop.

🌍🇩🇪 The most important Rhineland-producing country today is Germany, including the Mosel, Rheingau and Palatinate regions. In addition to Germany, France and Australia are also at the forefront in the production of the breed and in the production of their quality reindeer. Rieslings with a higher residual sugar pair well with spicy Indian or Asian dishes, but also go very well with duck, pork, bacon and crab.
